Fitness Supplements
Fitness supplements are not necessary for you to buy and consume in order for the average person to get a healthy body. If your body has a distinct lack of an important vitamin or nutrient that your doctor says you need, then you should look into fitness supplements. If you are also seriously planning on becoming a professional athlete or bodybuilder, then you will also need to look at including fitness supplements into your overall workout strategy. Before you take any supplement, make sure your doctor approves.
Protein Bars And Shakes
Perhaps the most popular fitness supplements sold are protein bars and protein powders to make protein shakes. Bodybuilders and professional athletes burn up an incredible amount of fuel. One of the best muscle-building nutrients is protein. But that doesn’t mean you should eat buckets of fried chicken and tons of cheeseburgers every day. Your protein needs to be lean, healthy and easy to prepare.
Protein bars and powders vary widely in taste, flavors and grittiness. There are so many to choose from that sooner or later you will find a preferred brand. You can buy them from health food stores, some department stores, sporting goods shops, some pharmacies and all of their online equivalents.
L- Glutamine Acid
L-Glutamine, a free-form amino acid, can be converted to glutamic acid. This acid also is intended to provide nutritive support for healthy protein synthesis. L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body and makes up more than 60% of the intramuscular amino acid pool. L-Glutamine plays an important role in many body functions such as proper immune system function, the transfer of nitrogen between organs, precursor to DNA and regulation of protein synthesis and degradation.
If you are already taking a protein fitness supplement, check the label to be sure it includes L-Glutamine. L-Glutamine supplements come in a tasteless powder form as well as a pill form and found wherever nutritional supplements are sold. There are hardly any side effects associated with L-Glutamine, but be sure to read any warning labels. And more does not mean better!
Both L-Glutamine and protein bars can be found in health food stores, health and fitness centers and online health product sites. They are expensive, so make sure you want and need them before you buy. Exercise and good diet are also needed for fitness. Supplements should be accompanied with a good aerobic fitness program and the proper diet to stay fit.
