So a meal like pasta or a break of graham crackers will permit the brain to make serotonin, but eating chicken and potatoes or nibbling on meat jerky will really stop serotonin from being made. This may say why folks may still feel hungry even after they have eaten a 20-ounce steak. Their stomachs are full but their brains would possibly not be making enough serotonin to shut off their appetites. "Carbohydrate cravers experience a change in their mood, customarily in latter afternoon or mid-evening. And with this mood change comes a craving to eat something sweet or starchy.".

Similarly , filling up on greasy foods like bacon or cheese makes you tired and sleepy.

Eating lots of fat, she announced, will make you an emotional zombie. "When you’re taking away the carbs, it’s like taking away water from somebody hiking in the desert," Wurtman declared. "If fat is the only alternative for a no- or low-carb dieter to consume to gorge the longings, it’s like giving a beer to the parched walker to alleviate the thirst–temporary relief, but eventually not effective."
